Queensland Shelter: Senior Administration Position
We are seeking a Senior Administration Officer with strong communication and problem solving skills and excellent attention to detail. Duties include database management, event arrangements, travel bookings, member liaison, and providing diary support to our Executive Officer. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs are essential.
The Senior Administration Officer will work with two part-time Administration Assistants and report to the Operations Manager.

Budget week
The State budget is being handed down on Tuesday and Queensland Shelter has been invited to the budget briefing.
We are eager to find out the commitment of the government in the areas of housing, and planning and infrastructure, and hopefully see some momentum to continue the growth of affordable housing in Queensland.

Australian Chapter 2010 Healthy Cities Conference
Logan City Council is hosting the Australian Chapter 2010 Healthy Cities Conference at the Logan Entertainment Centre on Wednesday 14 July 2010.
The free conference will be opened by Logan Mayor Pam Parker followed by streams on planning for a Healthy Logan City with sessions on car sharing and biking, cultural regeneration o f outdated urban facilities, city planning and local administration, benefits and costs of building zero emissions new housing, and redesigning urban spaces into healthy public places. Homeless to Home Health Care forum, Victoria Park Golf Club, Herston, 10 am to 3.30 pm Friday 11 June.
Micah projects will present the findings of their survey of Brisbane’s rough sleepers health care needs at this free one day event. Keynote speakers include preeminent US expert on homelessness and healthcare Dr Jim O’Connell and Common Ground Innovations Director Becky Kanis who will discuss the local adaption of Dr O’Connell’s research and give an overview of the health and housing needs of Brisbane 50 most vulnerable rough sleepers.
