Health Housing and Disability

Following on from Q Shelter’s Health Housing and Disability report released late last year, Q shelter participated in a round table meeting with representatives from the Department of Communities from Homelessness and Housing, Disability Services, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Community Services and Q Health. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the findings of the report and workshop the recommendations. Our report called for the streamlining processes and development of better systems for people with a disability and health issues in both the support and housing areas. Within the meeting it was highlighted that the machinery of government changes presents opportunities for improved efficiency and coordination within the Department. Q Shelter will continue discussions with this group and update stakeholders on its progress.

Please contact Senior Policy Officer Noelle Hudson on spo@qshelter.asn.au if you would like to know more.
