NIMBY snobs of suburbia protest public housing plan
Paul Syvret of The Courier Mail has made strong commentary on NIMBY attitudes towards public housing developments in his story "NIMBY snobs of suburbia protest public housing plan" which can be found at http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,,26602754-27197,00.html
The way Syvret has confronted prejudice against social housing tenants is admirable.
The level of fear and disgust about social housing defies real understanding of both tenants’ situations and any real impact they may have on neighbourhoods.
For us in the sector, there is a challenge to think of more ways to constructively address these unfounded prejudices.
