Q Shelter Conference 2016

Q Shelter was delighted to host their annual Housing and Homelessness Conference 2016 – Empowered People. Connected Communities. Sustainable Housing

This two-day conference was held at the Pacific Hotel Cairns on the 14 and 15 July.

This is the third year that Q Shelter has hosted this Conference, which brought together the community, affordable and other housing and homelessness sectors to address common challenges and share best practices from state, national, and international speakers. Q Shelter’s aim was to open the industry to innovative ways of delivering housing services, models for ensuring the sustainability of delivering these services, and opportunities to network with providers from across the state.

Q Shelter welcomed over 180 delegates and 40 speakers to the Conference.

Q Shelter would like to thank the Hon. Mick de Brenni MP, Minister for Housing and Public Works for opening the Conference, and Dr. Sam Tsemberis for delivering the keynote address.

Q Shelter is also grateful to Orange Sky Laundry founders, Nic Marchesi and Lucas Patchett, for speaking at the Conference.
