Youth Homelessness Early Intervention Coordination Logan
“Coordinating Early Intervention & Prevention Responses to
Youth Homelessness in the Wider Logan Region”
January 27th 20109am- 4pm
Venue: Beenleigh Events Centre (proposed – to be confirmed)
PURPOSE:
To bring together stakeholders and community members in the Wider Logan Region, in order tofacilitate more effective coordination of early intervention and prevention responses for young people
who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness.
To ‘feed into’ current service mapping exercises in the region & identify various entry points for youngpeople at risk (and their families), as well as identifying gaps in service delivery in the region.
To establish and map agreed-upon ‘pathways’ for early intervention for service providers and users,after which young people will have smoother and easier access to a range of appropriate services.
To grow a newly formed ‘Action Group’ within the region that will be focussed on identifying gaps inservice delivery and then addressing those gaps in a meaningful way.
To provide and share tools that will facilitate early intervention, as well as clear pathways for doing so.
SCOPE:
A one-day forum including:
A half-day session relating to mapping and identifying service providers and entry points for youngpeople at risk of homelessness in the region.
The introduction of an early intervention tool developed by Mission Australia.
A half-day series of workshop relating to; ‘pathways’ mapping; the coordination of early interventionand prevention responses; tools sharing and collation; the formation of an ‘action group’.
Please note: this is a working forum. It is expected that we will have several concrete outcomes from the day.Please come prepared to participate! ☺
COST:
This forum is being financially supported by Lutheran Community Care (Bridges Reconnect), as well as
utilising donations from various supporters. However, there will be a $20.00 per-head fee to keep costs at aminimum. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided. (Groups of 4 or more receive a 25%
