Delivering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing and Service Infrastructure
Queensland Shelter attended the Criterion Conference on “Delivering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing and Service Infrastructure” at the Mercure Hotel Brisbane on the 8th and 9th of June. The conference included a wide range of speakers and attendees from federal government departments, local councils, community housing organisations, and non-governmental organisations. Read more »

Queensland Shelter: Senior Administration Position
We are seeking a Senior Administration Officer with strong communication and problem solving skills and excellent attention to detail. Duties include database management, event arrangements, travel bookings, member liaison, and providing diary support to our Executive Officer. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs are essential.
The Senior Administration Officer will work with two part-time Administration Assistants and report to the Operations Manager. Read more »

Brisbane SAAP Services Forum: 18th May
A SAAP Services forum will be held on Tuesday May 18 at the Merthyr Uniting Church, 52 Merthyr Rd, New Farm (on-street parking is available).
The May forum is the forth in an ongoing series of forums held as part of the Queensland SAAP Networking Strategy. The forums broadly aim to provide an ongoing communication and engagement mechanism for SAAP services in the Brisbane region around the new homelessness agenda. With so much happening across housing & homelessness Q Shelter & QCOSS are hosting an NGO forum to provide an update around developments these areas.
The forum will cover current and planned housing initiatives across Queensland, and outline Q Shelter’s newly released policy platform.
In the area of homelessness the Forum will look at:
•The White paper’s new approach to homelessness and how this might be implemented in Queensland.
•The Queensland National Partnership Agreement (NPA) Implementation plan. Read more »

Local Government Inquiry
The Local Government Association of Queensland are conducting a public inquiry into whether Queensland needs a population policy to guide its future growth.
