Darren Mew

Darren Mew – General Member

Darren is the nominated representative of BlueCHP Limited, and independent Financial Member and Management Committee Member of Q Shelter and an active member of the Community Housing Sector since 2014.

Darren has worked in the Australian property industry for over 25 years in leadership roles for private and public development companies and leading property consultancies. Based in South East QLD since 2000, Darren is the Senior Development Manager for BlueCHP, a Tier 1 Community Housing Provider with offices in Logan (QLD) and Leumeah (NSW).

While with Stockland’s QLD Residential Communities business, Darren was instrumental in leading innovative affordable housing models across Queensland communities. Darren has been a consistent campaigner for affordable housing including his work with CHP’s for QLD and Q Shelter which includes:

–  the recently passed ‘Housing Legislation(Building Better Futures) Amendment Bill’,

–  the ‘QLD Housing Construction Jobs Program’; and

–  the ‘National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation’.

Furthermore, Darren represents an independent CHP voice on the ‘QLD Housing Policy Advisory Panel’ of the Urban Development Institute Australia and is a Board Member of CHP’s for QLD.

Darren holds deep networks with the Queensland State Government and Local Governments within South East Queensland. Through his work with BlueCHP, Darren has established numerous working partnerships with QLD CHP’s to advance their operational sustainability, develop new housing models and reduce reliance on State support.
