SAAP Networking Strategy Overview

The SAAP Networking Strategy is a three year project funded by the Department of Communities and jointly managed by Queensland Shelter and the Queensland Council of Social Service.  The project aims to develop a state-wide network of SAAP services providers in Queensland by strengthening and connecting existing networks of SAAP service providers as well as building networks of providers within regions or focus areas where such networks do not currently exist.   By developing a state-wide network of SAAP services, the Strategy will:
  • Link SAAP services and keep the sector up to date around developments in homelessness and affordable housing at the State and Federal Level.
  • Enable the SAAP sector to identify policy and program issues, and communicate and act on these in a coordinated way.
  • Provide a mechanism for consultation between the sector and the Department of Communities.
  • Facilitate the identification and sharing of best and innovative practice.
  • Facilitate the development of a more integrated and responsive homelessness service system.
