Saap Networking Strategy - Brisbane Forum
As part of the Networking Strategy a Forum is being held for SAAP funded services in the greater Brisbane region* on Wednesday 18 February from 9:30am-2:00pm.
The forum will be held at the National Safety Council of Australia, Lvl 1, River Tower, 20 Pidgeon Close, West End (Upstairs from QCOSS).
The Regional SAAP Forum will:
- Consider the implications of the Homelessness White paper on the Greater Brisbane Region.
- Provide an overview of the SAAP Networking Strategy including how the strategy will serve as a consultative mechanism for the SAAP sector
- Determine a process for nominating a representative from the region to sit on the Reference Group for the project which provides guidance around the implementation of the Networking Strategy as well as acting as a consultative mechanism for the SAAP sector.
To REGISTER for the Forum please complete the Registration Form and either return it by fax to 3004 6999 or by email to janeg [at] qcoss [dot] org [dot] au (janeg [at] qcoss [dot] org [dot] au).
With the release of the Homelessness White Paper the strategy is an important mechanism to ensure the SAAP sector will have input into how the Federal Government’s new approach to homelessness is implemented in Queensland. Establishing a SAAP networking mechanism and representation for the region will enable your services to contribute to the broader debates that will be taking place and ensure that you are kept up to date with developments to the homelessness system at the state and federal level.
*The networking activities of the SAAP Networking Strategy are aligned with the Department of Communities Regions. Services outside of the Greater Brisbane Region should contact the Tanya Hall, SAAP Network Coordinator, on 3004 6919 or email tanyah [at] qcoss [dot] org [dot] au (tanyah [at] qcoss [dot] org [dot] au) for information on networking activities in their region.
